Padres vs. Braves Prediction
The San Diego Padres dominated the host Atlanta Braves last night to even the four-game series at a game apiece. Can the Padres build on that win today or is Atlanta going to post the win as the favored team?

Padres offense heats up in win
San Diego pounded out 14 hits in Friday’s 9-3 win with Freddy Galvis leading the way with a huge night as he went a perfect 5-for-5 with a home run, a double and four RBIs. Travis Jankowski had a double, a walk and scored twice. Jose Pirela was 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Hunter Renfroe was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and tow RBIs. Manuel Margot was 2-for-3 with a walk. Clayton Richard picked up the win as he gave up three runs (two earned) with six strikeouts and two walks over six innings.
Freeman homers in loss
Star first baseman Freddie Freeman provided one of the few bright spots for Atlanta on Friday as his home run in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the hosts a 3-2 advantage before the Padres scored seven unanswered runs. He also walked in three at-bats. Johan Camargo ended the game 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Sam Freeman took the loss in relief as he gave up three earned runs on three hits with a walk in two-thirds of an innings.
Jordan Lyles (2-3, 4.83) will start today for the Padres, while the Braves counter with Sean Newcomb (7-2, 2.92).
MLB Betting Trends
San Diego
The Padres are 20-8 in their last 28 Saturday games. San Diego is 3-13 in its last 16 games in Atlanta.
Atlanta
The under is 7-2 in the last nine Braves home games. Atlanta is 7-2 in Newcomb’s last nine starts.
Prediction:
Although San Diego has played impressive baseball of late, the Braves are typically pretty good at home and are in the middle of a still way early NL East race. I also trust Newcomb at home a lot more than Lyles on the road. Take favored Atlanta here.
