Mets vs. Diamondbacks Prediction
The Arizona Diamondbacks doubled up the visiting New York Mets last night, pushing their lead in the NL West to 2.5 games. Can Arizona keep it rolling tonight against a New York squad that has lost 11 of 12 games?

Mets hit three solo home runs in loss
All the runs by New York in its 6-3 loss at Arizona Thursday night came via the home run as Brandon Nimmo, Michael Conforto and Amed Rosario all went deep with no one on base. The Mets cut it to 4-3 on the Rosario home run in the eighth, but allowed two runs in the bottom half to crush their chances. Jason Vargas allowed three earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over five innings to take the loss.
Peralta socks two homers
David Peralta paced the offense in the Diamondbacks’ win as he went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs. Jon Jay also finished 2-for-3. Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb each added a solo homer. Matt Koch allowed two earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts and a walk over six innings to pick up the win. Brad Boxberger struck out two in a perfect ninth to record his 15th save.
Seth Lugo (2-1, 1.77 ERA) draws the start today for the Mets, while Arizona counters with Zack Godley (6-5, 4.97 ERA).

Prediction
Lugo has been fantastic out of the bullpen this season along with a couple spot starts, while Godley has been erratic although he is coming off a pretty good start. I’m going to roll the dice and say New York breaks out of its slump here to get a win. The Mets have already seen Godley this season and knows what he has to offer. Go with the underdogs here, even if it is difficult to stomach a team that has lost 11 of 12.
