Boston scores in four straight innings
The Red Sox put up at least one run in each inning from the second through the fifth to take a 6-2 lead en route to a 6-4 win at Baltimore Tuesday night. Christian Vazquez was the only Boston hitter with multiple hits as he went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Seven other Red Sox hitters had exactly one hit, led by Andrew Benintendi who was 1-for-4 with a home run plus a walk and two RBIs. Xander Bogaerts finished 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs. J.D. Martinez and Mitch Moreland each had a single and walked twice. Rafael Devers was 1-for-5 with a 2-run homer. Brock Holt went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run. Orioles leadoff hitter Joey Rickard finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run that gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. He also walked and scored two runs. Adam Jones went 2-for-5 at the dish, while Danny Valencia was 1-for-3 with two walks plus a run and an RBI. Mark Trumbo finished 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBIs. MLB Betting Trends
Boston
The Red Sox are 20-7 in their last 27 Wednesday games. Boston is 14-6 in its last 20 games on grass.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 3-9 in their last 12 Wednesday games. Boston is 11-1 in the last 12 meetings.
Prediction:
This is a mismatch of epic proportions. All the Orioles have going for them is being at home. Sale should navigate pretty easily through a weak Baltimore lineup, as long as he can avoid trouble with Manny Machado. Ramirez gets the unenviable task of facing an elite offense in his debut. Don’t overthink this one. Take the runline if you want to reduce the juice.
