San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Brandon Crawford delivered two doubles, including one that broke an eighth-inning tie, as the Giants topped the Marlins 3-1 on Thursday. Those were the ninth and 10th extra-base hits in Crawford’s 201 plate appearances this season. He’s had a much improved May (.238, 3 HR, 13 RBI) compared to his brutal April (.198, 0 HR, 2 RBI), but he’s still not close to fantasy relevance at this point of his career.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Keon Broxton went 1-for-4 and whacked a solo home run as his team fell to the Tigers on Wednesday. He went yard against starter Ryan Carpenter with the bases empty in the fourth inning. It was his second longball of the season, both of which have come since joining the Orioles last week. He was jettisoned by the Mets after struggling to a .143 batting average in 34 games. He is getting everyday playing time with his new club and is off to a good start. He could generate decent fantasy value, especially in home runs and stolen bases. He has a .219 career batting average in 315 games, so don’t expect much on that front.
MLB Betting Trends
San Francisco
The Giants are 1-7 in their last eight games overall.
Baltimore
The Orioles have dropped 39 of their last 54 games at home.
Prediction:
The Giants have a horrendous offense but the over has cashed in six of their last eight games overall and is 8-3 in their last 11 games coming off a win. On the other side, the over is 7-3 in the Orioles’ last 10 games, is 7-2 in Andrew Cashner’s last nine starts and is 4-1 in his last five outings at Camden Yards.
