Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Kyle Schwarber hit his 10th homer leading off Wednesday’s game against the Astros’ Wade Miley. Schwarber has done a lot of sitting against lefties in his career, but he’s off to a great start against them this season and is getting more playing time as a result. His production against lefties is likely to level off, but the extra at-bats are good for his fantasy value
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Paul DeJong went 0-for-4 on Thursday and is in a 1-for-26 slump. He does have four walks and three HBPs during his little slump, so it hasn’t been quie as dreadful as it sounds. Still, his OPS has dropped from 1.010 to .880 this month.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The Cubs are 2-5 in their last seven games overall.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have dropped 18 of their last 25 overall.
Prediction:
Both of these teams are struggling right now and the Cardinals are one of the most inconsistent teams in baseball. That said, the under is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these rivals in St. Louis. The under is also 5-0 in Miles Mikolas’ last five starts overall and is 5-1 in the Cardinals’ last six games. There is a blow-up factor with Yu Darvish but the under does look like the best play on the board here.
The Pick: Cubs/Cardinals under 9
