Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin
Albert Pujols popped a solo home run and scored a pair of runs on Monday in Oakland. Pujols’ shot off of Chris Bassitt in the fourth inning put the Halos ahead and they extended their lead later in the frame with a Luis Rengifo sac fly, but the A’s offense got to work after that. The long ball was Pujols’ ninth of the season but first in over two weeks, as he’s been slumping lately and losing some playing time to Jared Walsh.
Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Matt Chapman went deep for the third game in a row Monday as the Athletics took down the Angels. Chapman singled and scored in the fifth inning before taking Luis Garcia over the left field wall and just inside the foul pole in the seventh with a solo blast. He’s now up to 14 home runs for the season after going deep in three straight contests. It’s not the only streak that was continued, as the A’s won their 10th game in a row to move to four games over .500.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angels are 1-7 in Tropeano’s last eight starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game.
Oakland
The A’s have won eight straight games after scoring five runs or more in their previous contest.
Prediction:
The Angels are 1-4 in their last five games versus the A’s and are 1-6 in their last seven contests in Oakland. They’re also 2-6 in their last eight games overall and 1-4 in their last five road games. With the A’s winning 10 straight and 50 of their last 71 at home, there’s no reason to fade them now.
The Pick: Oakland A’s -1.5 (+110)
