Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Yasmany Tomas went 5-for-5 with four homers and eight RBI on Monday for Triple-A Reno on Monday. Tomas saw four pitches on Monday, and all four of them went over the fence. He now has 13 homers on the season, and he’s slashing .311/.341/.598 in 42 games. Let’s keep in mind that this four-homer game came in a contest that saw 33 runs — 25 of them by Reno — and the ball jumps out of PCL parks. It’s also worth remembering that Tomas was a 30-homer player just two seasons ago. It probably won’t come in Arizona, but he could be on an MLB roster if someone can figure out the (disastrous) financial aspects
San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Franmil Reyes hit a go-ahead two-run homer on Monday to help the Padres beat the Diamondbacks on Monday. With the Padres trailing 1-0 in the sixth, Reyes hit a two-run shot off of Luke Weaver to give San Diego a 2-1 lead and Reyes his 15th roundtripper of the season. He’s also driven in 27 runs, and his slugging percentage improves to .596. The .258 average and .296 on-base percentage are nothing to write home about, but Reyes has tremendous power, and that makes him a solid — if volatile — fantasy option
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 3-7 in their last 10 games overall but 5-2 in their last seven road games versus a left-handed starter.
San Diego
The Padres are 10-25 in their last 35 games when playing the second game of a series.
Prediction:
The Diamondbacks are a perfect 4-0 in Zack Greinke’s last four starts versus the Padres and are 4-1 in his last five road outings versus San Diego. Arizona has also won 11 of Greinke’s last 16 road starts and is 17-7 in his last 25 outings coming off five days of rest. The Padres, meanwhile, are just 2-6 in their last eight games overall and are winless in their last four games following a win.
The Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks -109
