Yankees’ Severino excellent in win over the A’s
Luis Severino picked up his sixth win of the season by giving up one run over six innings in a victory over the A’s on Sunday. Severino scattered five hits, and he walked two while striking out seven. It pales in comparison to his previous two starts, but you’ll certainly take it. He now owns a 2.14 ERA on the season, and he’s struck out 70 hitters in his 59 innings over nine starts for the Yankees. Expect more impressive numbers when he faces the Royals on Sunday in Kansas City.
Royals’ Duffy rocked for nine runs in loss to Indians
Danny Duffy was rocked for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Indians. Duffy gave up two homers, and he also walked five on top of allowing eight hits. Yikes. The southpaw pitched relatively well against the Orioles on Tuesday, but for the most part, he’s had a disappointing 2018 campaign. He’ll try and lower his ugly 6.51 ERA on Saturday, but it won’t be easy in a match-up with the Yankees.
MLB Betting Trends
New York

Kansas City
The under has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams overall.
Prediction:
There’s no value in the Yankees on the money line unless we’re including them in a rather large parlay. Since we’re doing an individual pick here, I’ll pay for them on the runline at -1.5. They’re 23-5 in Severino’s last 28 starts, are 9-3 in his last 12 road outings and have won 51 of their last 76 games overall. Meanwhile, the Royals are just 1-5 in their last six games, are 2-12 in their last 14 home games versus a right-handed starter, and have dropped nine of Duffy’s last 10 starts.
The Pick: New York Yankees -1.5
