Mariners on a losing streak

Seattle is riding a four-game losing streak coming into this weekend following a pair of losses at home to the Cubs. The Mariners are now 18-15 on the season, 11-4 on the road and 22-9 with the over. Seattle sends Yusei Kikuchi to the mound tonight. He is 1-1 on the season with a 4.54 ERA.

The Mariners are one of the stronger offenses in the majors. They are averaging 5.73 runs per game right now while hitting .247 as a team. When it comes to pitching, the Mariners have a 4.61 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. Domingo Santana is leading the team with six home runs and 30 RBI while hitting .284. Edwin Encarnacion has added eight home runs and 20 RBI.

Indians return home

Cleveland is coming off a loss at Miami and the Indians have lost three of their last four to wrap up a 6-game road trip. The Indians are now 16-13 on the season, 7-4 at home and 16-12 with the under. Cleveland has Shane Bieber getting the start tonight. He is 2-1 on the season with a 3.68 ERA.

The Indians haven’t been hitting the ball too well this season, as they are averaging 3.83 runs per game while hitting .215 as a team. Cleveland is solid with its pitching, posting a 3.59 ERA as a team with a 1.21 WHIP. Carlos Santana is the top hitter, as he has four home runs and 17 RBI with a .323 average. Jake Bauers is the only other player with at least 10 RBI. He has three home runs with 11 RBI and is hitting .239.

MLB Betting Trends

The Mariners are just 2-10 in their last 12 games following a loss, but 9-2 in their last 11 road games against a right-handed starter.

The Indians are 1-4 in their last five home games against a left-handed starter, but 9-4 in Bieber’s last 13 starts.

Cleveland already took three games from Seattle on the road by holding the Mariners to just six runs over the three games. Bieber was the starter in one of those wins. Kikuchi was the starter in another. Kikuchi hasn’t been very solid this year, allowing at least three runs in his last four starts. The Mariners probably can’t count on their usual production at the plate against this solid Cleveland staff.

MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -150
