Rangers’ Moore coming off no decision in last start
Matt Moore pitched one inning of relief against the Blue Jays on April 29 but his last start came April 23 at home versus the A’s. In that game, he allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings of work. He struck out two and walked two as his struggles continued this season. The only team he has fared well against has been the offensively-challenged Rays, whom he beat on April 17.
Indians’ Kluber nearly goes the distance versus the Mariners
Corey Kluber finished one out of shy of a complete game while allowing two runs over 8 2/3 innings in Friday’s 6-5 victory over the Mariners. Kluber was pulled after giving up a single to Kyle Seager with two outs in the ninth. Cody Allen went on to give-up a three-run homer to Mike Zunino, but he managed to hang on to finish off the victory.
Kluber struck out 10 batters while allowing four hits and three walks. The only damage was a two-run homer off the bat of Mitch Haniger in the seventh. Kluber has delivered on his “fantasy ace” status so far, posting a 2.18 ERA and 47/9 K/BB ratio in 45 1/3 innings over six starts. He gets the Rangers next in another home start.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers have dropped five of their last seven meetings with the Indians in Cleveland and are 2-7 in the last nine games in this series.
Cleveland
The Indians are 5-1 in Kluber’s last six starts versus the Rangers.
Prediction:
It’s going to be difficult for the Rangers to touch Kluber and while the price on even the runline is steep, the Indians are a good bet. This is a terrible pitching matchup for the Rangers, as Moore hasn’t missed many bats this season. Cleveland is 40-15 in Kluber’s last 55 starts and is 55-27 in his last 82 home starts.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -300
