Chicago earned a 6-5 victory Tuesday night at Seattle, its third straight win. Kyle Schwarber smacked a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to account for the final score. Daniel Descalso went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in the winning effort. Anthony Rizzo was 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Schwarber went 1-for-3 with the home run, a walk and two RBIs. Brad Brach picked up the win in relief as he walked two in 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Steve Cishek earned the save as he gave up one hit plus a walk while striking out two in 1 1/3 scoreless frames. Jon Lester starts today for Chicago as he enters with a 1-1 record, 2.37 ERA, 1.21 WHIP plus 19 strikeouts over 19 innings.

Edwin Encarnacion paced the Mariners' offense as he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs. Domingo Santana finished 2-for-5 with a double. Ryon Healy was 1-for-4 with a double and a run, while Tim Beckham went 1-for-5 with a double and a run. Brandon Brennan suffered the loss as he allowed two earned runs on two hits over 1 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking none. MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The Cubs are 6-1 in their last seven road games. Chicago is 4-0 in Lester's last four interleague starts.

Seattle

The Mariners are 1-5 in the last six meetings. Seattle is 5-17 in its last 22 interleage games.

Prediction:

Gonzales has had a fantastic start to his season and will look to remain unblemished today. The Mariners are desperate to find some good vibes and with so many hitters that fare well against left-handed pitching, I'm liking the hosts' chances against Lester. While Lester is a solid veteran pitcher, he can be prone to awful starts here and there. Gonzales should get enough support here to carry Seattle to a win.
