Dodgers’ Maeda solid in no-decision
Kenta Maeda allowed one earned run, four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Marlins. Maeda did his part against the Marlins, throwing 55 of his 82 pitches for strikes. However, L.A.’s offense was unable to get to left-hander Dillon Peters on the other side. It was a surprising result, as the Dodgers had posted a 16-5 record across Maeda’s past 21 starts, including 7-2 in his past nine against National League East foes. He’ll look to get back into the win column Sunday in San Francisco.
Giants’ Blach only so-so in no-decision
Ty Blach allowed three earned runs, four hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Nationals. Blach threw 47 of his 79 pitches for strikes in the no-decision, as the Opening Day starter has a 1-3 record and a 4.31 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP. He has managed just two quality starts over six outings this season, and he has dropped each of his past three decisions since winning his initial outing back on March 29. He’ll look to bounce back Sunday against Kenta Maeda and the visiting Dodgers.
