White Sox’ Fulmer goes six, beats Mariners
Carson Fulmer pitched six innings of two-run ball for a victory over the Mariners on Monday. It’s Fulmer’s first win in four starts this year, and he lowered his ERA to 6.00. What chance there was of him losing his rotation spot in the short term disappeared when Miguel Gonzalez landed on the disabled list. Still, he’s not a good bet.
Royals call up Oaks for Saturday start
Royals recalled RHP Trevor Oaks from Triple-A Omaha. He’ll make his major league debut on Saturday in the first game of the club’s doubleheader against the White Sox. Oaks owns a 3.09 ERA and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings at Triple-A. He isn’t a recommended streaming option.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox is 5-16 in their last 21 games overall and are 24-52 in their last 76 road outings.
Kansas City
The Royals are 3-13 in their last 16 home games and are 2-11 in their last 13 games coming off a loss.
Prediction:
The Royals have a weak offense and Fulmer is coming off a nice outing but I still see value in the over today. Fulmer continues to struggle with control and possess an average strikeout rate. Oaks, while we don’t know much about him, isn’t a strikeout pitcher. He does have control but the ball will be in play a lot. The over is 4-0-1 in the White Sox’ last five road games, is 7-2-2 in their last 11 games and is 3-0-1 in the Royals’ last four games versus the rest of the American League Central.
The Pick: White Sox/Royals over 9.5
