Lopez pitches well for White Sox in no-decision
Reynaldo Lopez allowed one run over five innings in a no-decision on Sunday against the Astros. Lopez did walk four, but he scattered just four hits on the afternoon and struck out two. The 24-year-old right-hander now has an ERA of 1.50 over his first four starts of the year, and doesn’t have a win to show for them. The joys of pitching for one of the worst teams in baseball. Lopez will try and earn that first victory in Kansas City on Friday against the Royals.
Royals’ Duffy allows six runs in loss to Tigers
Danny Duffy coughed up six runs in 4 2/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Tigers on Saturday. Tigers’ hitters didn’t have any problem squaring him up as they laced 10 base hits, including a two-run dinger by outfielder Nicholas Castellanos. Duffy managed just two strikeouts against two walks. He heaved 101 pitches and didn’t even complete the fifth inning. He falls to 0-3 with a 5.26 ERA and 1.52 WHIP on the season.
