Braves’ Teheran coming off hard-luck loss vs. Nationals
Julio Teheran took a hard-luck loss after allowing two runs in six innings Monday against the Nationals. Teheran remains winless on the season, even though the Braves totaled eight runs in his first start and 13 in his second. He pitched well for the first time tonight, but he was up against peak Max Scherzer in this one. Teheran has a 7.07 ERA overall.
Chatwood hoping for better results following poor outing vs. Pirates
Tyler Chatwood yielded five runs over five innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday. Chatwood only walked one batter this time, but he gave up nine hits, including a solo homer to Starling Marte. The 28-year-old had some momentum as a fantasy sleeper after leaving Coors Field behind, but the results have been mixed through two starts.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 6-1 in Teheran’s last seven starts against the Cubs.
Chicago
The Cubs are 9-4 in their last 13 home games versus the Braves and 16-5 in their last 21 meetings overall versus Atlanta.
Prediction:
While yesterday’s game resembled a low-scoring football game than a baseball contest, I do expect scoring to be at a premium this afternoon. The under is 13-3-3 in the Cubs’ last 19 games played on Sunday and is 4-1 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. The under is also 5-0 in Teheran’s last five road starts and 15-5-1 in his last 21 starts overall.
The Pick: Braves/Cubs under 7.5
