Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Kevin Kiermaier went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in Sunday’s win over the Giants. Kiermaier continues to produce, having now hit safely in seven of his nine games to start the year. He’s got three doubles, a triple and two homers, along with two steals, in that span, batting a healthy .300/.353/.667 overall. A lost 2018 season depressed the 28-year-old’s value, but now healthy and productive he could return that power-speed season some hoped for last year. Put him on your deeper-league radar.
Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin
Tim Anderson went 4-for-5 with a run scored in the White Sox’ blowout loss to the Mariners on Sunday. Anderson owns a six-game hitting streak to begin the year and has now posted 10 hits over his last three games since returning from the paternity list on Thursday. The 25-year-old shortstop is hitting .560/.577/.880 with seven runs scored, two homers, five RBI and one steal in 26 plate appearances. That will work. If he was dropped in your fantasy league early last week, it may be too late to pick him up. He’s battled persistent contact issues throughout his major-league tenure, but he’s cut back on the strikeouts so far this season
MLB Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Rays are winless in their last four games played in Chicago.
Chicago
The White Sox have lost four out of Carlos Rodon’s last five starts but are 9-4 in his last 13 outings when he starts Game 1 of a series.
Prediction:
The under is 19-7-2 in Snell’s last 22 starts and is 12-3-1 in his last 16 outings on the road. The under is also 6-2-1 in Rodon’s last nine starts overall and has cashed in four of his last five outings at Guaranteed Rate Field. Following a high-scoring series with the Mariners, I see the tables turning for the White Sox starting on Monday. The Rays didn’t score a lot of runs in San Francisco over the weekend but their pitching was superb.
The Pick: Rays/White Sox under 7.5
