UCLA vs. Cal Prediction
Will Cal pull off the upset tonight when it hosts UCLA at 7:00PM ET or will the Bruins roll?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Golden Bears are now 3-point home underdogs versus the Bruins after opening as a 5.5-point dog earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 71 but has been bet down slightly to 70.5.
UCLA KEY TRENDS: The Bruins are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games coming off a straight up loss and have covered in four of their last five games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. They’re also 12-5 against the number in their last 17 games following a double-digit loss at home, but are just 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 games overall. They’re also just 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.
CAL KEY TRENDS: The Golden Bears are 0-4 against the spread in their last four conference games, are 0-5 against the number in their last five games in November and are 0-6 ATS in their last six games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous games. They’ve also failed to cover in 22 of their last 32 home games and are 3-8 against the number in their last 11 games following a double-digit loss at home.
OUR PREDICTION: UCLA lost its quarterback Josh Rosen for the season but backup Mike Fafaul has done a solid job in his place. The problem for UCLA has been its defense, but the Bruins shouldn’t have any issues moving the ball against one of the worst defenses in the nation. The Bears rank 127th in the nation in yards allowed, 127th in the nation in rushing yards allowed, 90th in passing yards allowed and 128th in points allowed. There’s a chance the Bruins will just go through the motions tonight, but they’re worth a dice roll.
