AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Jordan Spieth has been one of the hottest names in golf over the last year. Will the 21-year-old Texan break through this week and win The Masters?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Spieth is listed with 9/1 odds to win the green jacket this weekend. His odds of a top-5 finish are set at 7/4, while his odds for a top-10 performance are set at 2/3. His odds for making the cut have been posted at -800, while his odds to miss this weekend’s cut are listed at +475.
Spieth is fourth in the current world rankings. He has had three straight tournaments where he has placed first or second and he has six top-10s in eight tournaments in 2015. He has placed in the top 10 in nine of his last 11 events, including three wins.
Spieth will be taking on Augusta for just the second time in his career, but he had a great debut, finishing second last year to Bubba Watson. Spieth has played in just eight major championships in his career, including all four last year. He finished 17th in the U.S. Open, 36th in the British Open and then missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
