    Can play 3

+100 on DK, I will eat a bit of juice here
for a key number in a game that has already ended in a FG.

Bucs have not won in 4 straight games and have not covered in their last 8 games in a row. This team at one points was 5-1 with promise of playoffs and after injuries and poor play they find themselves at 7-9 playing for the division.

Bucs will be fully healthy in this one and will be playing in Tampa Bay. Wirfs should be 100% and the WR core is good to go. In the previous matchup the Panthers beat the Bucs as underdogs at home, now travel on the road where the offense has been statistically worse. Bryce Young in his career is just 4-17 SU on the road (3-5 in 2025).

Panthers come into this game as one of the most hyped and bet on underdogs to win this week, and why would they not be? All 8 of the Panthers wins have been as underdogs. This game will simply be the better team winning and regardless of the horrible past 2 months for the Bucs it all relies on this one game. Baker Mayfield will have a good game in this one and you will see the Bucs come out victorious.

This Panthers defense ranks 31st in 3rd down conversion rate allowing opponents to covert 3rd downs at a 47% rate. They also do not get any pressure which will be good for Baker to find his WR’s. This Bucs defense has been solid facing the run this season ranking 7th in RYPG allowed and face a offense that is not explosive and a team that struggles in the redzone ranking bottom 5 in both on the offensive end.

    NFL Week 18 betting trends
    Saturday

    * Panthers at Buccaneers (-2½, 44): The Panthers won and covered the first meeting by a narrow 23-20 margin and are on a 6-2 under run. The Bucs have lost seven of their last eight overall while going 0-8 ATS. They’re on a 6-4 under run. Edge: Panthers and under.

    * Seahawks (-1½, 48) at 49ers: The Niners have won and covered seven of the last eight meetings, including a 17-13 win at Seattle in Week 1. San Francisco has won and covered six straight overall and is on a 6-2 over run. The Seahawks are 7-1 straight up and ATS on the road this season. Edge: 49ers and over.
Before the season started, a BetMGM bettor in Nevada wagered $50,000 to win $3 million on the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl (60-1) and $50,000 to win $1.4 million on Seattle to win the NFC (28-1).

The Seahawks will be in the optimal position to make a title run if they beat the 49ers on Saturday to secure the NFC’s top playoff seed.

Professional sports bettors Cris Zeniuk and Jeff Whitelaw and legendary sportscaster Brent Musburger made Seattle (-1½) their weekend best bet.

“The San Francisco offense has been scary while going two games without punting, and it’s off an impressive win over a legitimate Bears team,” said Zeniuk (@lasvegascris), who recommends the Seahawks on the money line (-118). “Flip side is their defense has been a turnstile to the end zone for opposing teams, and their impressive offensive performances have been against some weak defenses.

“Seattle has a big boy defense that is one of the best, and their offense is right up there as well. Seattle is more than a field goal better than a San Francisco team lacking the depth it needs.”

Musburger, on a 19-10-1 against the spread run in the Review-Journal NFL Challenge, said he thinks the Seahawks’ run game could be the difference.

“In the last two weeks, the Seahawks have rushed for 171 yards and 163 yards against the Rams and Panthers,” he said. “I’m backing running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet to lead the Seahawks to the No. 1 seed in the NFC.”

Seattle ranks second in the NFL in scoring offense (29.4 points per game) and scoring defense (18.1 ppg allowed), while the Niners have allowed 29.7 ppg in their past three.

“The 49ers defensively have just been playing atrocious,” Whitelaw said. “Seattle is a more complete team.”

    Scott Pritchard
In Saturday’s other NFL game, pro bettor Scott Pritchard is backing the Buccaneers (-2½) over the Panthers.

“Carolina’s strength is running the football,” said Pritchard (Pritchardspicks.com). “Tampa Bay at home with a good rush defense will be the difference.”

    College football betting trends
    Thursday

Oregon (-2½, 51½) vs. Texas Tech, Orange Bowl, CFP: Oregon has failed to cover in four of its past five bowl/playoff games after letting James Madison in the back door Dec. 20 in their CFP first-round game. The Ducks went 8-5 against the spread this season and are on an extended 25-15-1 ATS run. The Red Raiders won and covered three of their past four bowls and were the country’s best team ATS this season at 12-1. Texas Tech also is on an 8-3 under run. Edge: Texas Tech and under.

Alabama vs. Indiana (-7, 47½), Rose Bowl, CFP: The Hoosiers are making their first Rose Bowl game appearance since 1968, though they did play in the stadium last year in the regular season and rolled to a 42-13 rout of UCLA. Indiana lost and failed to cover its playoff game at Notre Dame last season, but has since gone 17-9 ATS. The Hoosiers are on an 8-4 over run. Alabama returns to the Rose Bowl after losing a playoff game in Pasadena, California, two years ago to Michigan in overtime. The Crimson Tide are on an 8-3-1 spread run and a 9-2 under run. Alabama has won five straight road games and is 2-1 ATS as an underdog this season. Edge: Slight to Alabama and under.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia (-6½, 55½), Sugar Bowl, CFP: Rematch of Oct. 18 game at Georgia, when the Bulldogs won and barely covered as 7½-point favorites in a 43-35 comeback victory. That avenged a 28-10 loss at Ole Miss last season. The Rebels are on a 7-4 ATS run and 7-3 under run and went 1-1 ATS as underdogs this season. Georgia is on a 7-3 under run and 6-3 ATS uptick after an 0-5 spread slide. Edge: Under and slight to Ole Miss.

ORANGE BOWL Hard Rock Stadium Miami Gardens, FL
3% Texas Tech (+2) Noon ET
What a way to kick off the New Year with 2 of the most exciting teams of the season facing off in the CFP. Oregon HC Lanning has far more experience than his counterpart HC McGuire thanks to his experience at Georgia and Oregon. He also has one of the best quarterbacks in the nation this year in Dante Moore who enters this game with a 28:8 ratio. Though we have NO defining “3D” or “4D” team in this matchup, it is of major concern that the Ducks allowed 509 yards in their Round #1 win over James Madison last week. Each team enters on lengthy winning streaks with matching 12-1 SU records. Tech, however, was where the money is with their 11-1 ATS mark. It is an amazingly improved defense that has led Tech to where they are today. But that’s what $28 million dollars of Permian Basin Oil and Gas money will do when you want to buy a CFB team in this day and age. It is reported that almost $10 million dollars of that money was spent on a defense that has been worth every penny allowing just 11 PPG. The only loss of the season for TTRR was when QB Morton (67% C, 22:11 ratio) was unavailable for the Arizona State game. Other than that, ALL VICTORIES WERE BY 22 OR MORE POINTS. “Guns up” Red Raiders as TTRR advances to the next round with this mini upset.

ROSE BOWL Rose Bowl Pasadena, CA
    3% Indiana (-7) 4:00 PM ET
It has been a peripatetic Alabama team in the 2nd year of the HC DeBoer tenure. To wit there was the season opening loss to Florida State, a defeat at Oklahoma, an Iron Bowl escape against rival Auburn, and an embarrassing loss to Georgia in the SEC Title Game, 28-7. Last week, it appeared they had a negative carryover effect when they trailed Oklahoma 17-0 in their revenge game. They rallied to victory which allowed them to advance and face the #1 team in the nation. DeBoer does bring a nice pedigree to the sidelines with his 11-3 ATS dog log. It also must be respected that the Crimson Tide beat 4 ranked teams this season. If they do so today, it will be in large part because QB Simpson, with a 28:5 ratio, was able to overcome the Tide’s pathetic 104/3.3 run game. Indiana is led by HC Cignetti who has led the greatest turnaround of any program in recent memory. They capped off a 13-0 SU perfect season by defeating Ohio State for the BIG 10 Title. Main reason for this selection is their “4D” defensive advantage, some indicators by a wide margin. It is, however, never easy to play on a Heisman Trophy winning player such as QB Mendoza who has a 73% C and 38:7 ratio. Though the Hoosiers met every test, it should be noted that 3 of their 13 wins were by 6 or less points.

SUGAR BOWL Caesars Superdome New Orleans, LA
    5% Georgia (-6.5) 8:00 PM ET
The Bulldogs have dominant edges in every defensive category making this one of the stronger “4D” plays of the Bowl Season. In addition, there is a clear edge on the sideline with post season veteran HC Smart against the Ole Miss Interim HC Golding. In the first meeting between these two, the Rebels led 35-26 before the Bulldogs used one of their patented 4th quarter rallies to emerge with a 43-35 victory. IT WAS THE ONLY LOSS FOR OLE MISS making this a legitimate revenge outing in the CFP rematch. Since entering as a starter in the early weeks of the season, Rebel’s QB Chambills has been phenomenal with a 67% C and 19:3 ratio. His counterpart is Georgia QB Stanton with a solid 24:7 ratio of his own. We are backing the Bulldogs with the meaningful advantage of the “4D System” and the notable coaching experience edge to outweigh the Ole Miss revenge motive. Regarding our coaching advantage in this matchup, I note that the Georgia defense has returned to its norm. In the last 6 games, since they played Ole Miss, the defense has allowed only 11.7 PPG. It is even better in the last 4 in which they have allowed an average of just 7 PPG,226 YPG, including just 32 RYPG. From a longer term perspective, consider Smarts record in Post Season play of 7-1 SU with wins of 19 PPG on average.
