Men’s Downhill Skiing Predictions

Which alpine skier will be the fastest at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the Men’s Downhill event? Here’s our predictions for the gold-medal winner.

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Beat Feuz is favored to win the gold, as he is listed with 3/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Aksel Lund Svindal (7/2) and Kjetil Jansrud (7/2). The Men’s Downhill begins competition later today and will conclude on Saturday.

Bet on Winter Olympics Odds

Feuz is a Swiss skier that is looking to claim his first Olympic medal. He competed in the 2014 games and finished 13th in the downhill. Feuz is the defending world champion in the downhill.

Svindal is a skier from Norway that is a veteran of the sport. He is competing in his fourth Olympic games and was a silver medal winner in the downhill in 2010. He also finished fourth at the 2014 games. Svindal was also the 2013 and 2007 world champion in the downhill.

Jansrud is also a skier from Norway. He is set to make his fourth Olympic appearance as well. Jansrud won the bronze at the 2014 games while finishing 31st in 2010. He finished fourth in the 2017 world championships.

This is a competitive field but Feuz looks to be the man to beat this weekend. He had a strong showing at the world championships and has improved a great deal since the 2014 Olympics. If you are looking for a dark horse, Max Franz of Austria may be a good pick. He is listed with 40/1 odds. Franz finished third in the 2017 World Championships and also had a top-10 finish at the 2014 games. However, Feuz will be my pick to win the gold.
