Vettel is favored to win the race according to online sports book Bodog.com. He has 4/5 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Mark Webber (9/2), Lewis Hamilton (9/2) and Fernando Alonso (7/1).
In five F1 races this season, Vettel has won four of them and finished second in the other. He leads the season standings by 41 points over Hamilton. Vettel finished second in this race last year and also finished fifth in 2008.
Webber won this event last year and he has three other top 5’s at this track to his credit. Webber is third in the point standings with 67. He is 51 points out of first. Webber is winless this year but has finished in the top 5 in all races.
Hamilton is the only other driver to have won a race this year. He has finished fourth or better in all but one race this season. Hamilton won this race in 2008 and he finished fifth a year ago.
Alonso is fifth in the point standings with 51. He has three top-5 finishes this season. He won in Monaco in 2007 and 2006. Alonso hasn’t finished in the top 5 of this race since 2007.
