American Pharoah Preakness Favorite
PIMLICO, BALTIMORE (The Spread) – After claiming victory in the Kentucky Derby, American Pharoah is the early favorite to win the 2015 Preakness Stakes.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, American Pharoah is a 7/5 favorite to win the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown, which will take place on Saturday, May 16. Dortmund and Firing Line have the next best odds to win at 5/1, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, Carpe Diem, Danzig Moon and Frosted are all 8/1, respectively, to win the Preakness Stakes while Materiality is 10/1. The rest of the field has yet to be set for the Preakness, so we’ll update these odds when the full list of contenders are released.
American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby on Sunday, edging out Firing Line and Dortmund, who set the pace early before fading and just holding onto a money spot. Frosted finished fourth while Danzig Moon was fifth and Materiality was sixth.
