Women’s Slalom Odds
Don’t blink, or you may miss the top female skiers in the world compete in the Women’s Slalom at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
According to vancouver2010.com, slalom features the shortest course and the quickest turns. As in the giant slalom, each skier makes two runs down two different courses on the same slope. Both runs take place on the same day. The times are added together and the fastest total time determines the winner.
Austrian Marlies Schild is favored to take hom the gold in this event
Schild has odds of 2/1 to win the gold medal in this event according to online sports book Sports Interaction. Other short odds to win are Maria Riesch (5/1), Kathrin Zettel (13/2), and Sandrine Aubert (8/1).
Schild won bronze at the 2006 Olympic games for Slalom and she also has placed second in slalom at the 2003 and 2007 world championships. She holds the World Cup overall title for slalom in 2008 and has won 20 World Cup slalom events in her career.
