Men’s PGS Odds

A competitive field headlined by two favorites will race to win the gold medal in the Men’s PGS Snowboarding event at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

PGS stands for parallel giant slalom and according to vancouver2010.com, in this event two snowboarders race head-to-head down a course, turning through a series of gates. The fastest goes on to the next round. The top finishers compete in a total of nine runs.

For this competition Jasey Jay Anderson and Benjamin Karl are favored to win the gold.

These two have odds of 3/1 to win the gold medal according to online sports book Brobury Sports. Other short odds to win are Andreas Prommegger (4/1) and Michael Lambert (5/1).



Anderson
is a two-time world champion in this event, including the defending champion. He also won the title in 2005. He competes for

Canada
and he placed 20th in the 2006 Olympics.

Karl competes for

Austria
and he holds seven World Cup event victories and one world championship.

Prommegger also competes for

Austria
and he finished ninth at the 2006 Olympics. He is a two-time juniors world champion in the pgs and he has also won one World Cup event in his career.

Lambert competes for

Canada
and he was second in the 2006 World Junior Championships. He recently won the World Cup event in the PGS on Jan. 17.

The 2010 Winter Olympics take place from

Vancouver,
British Columbia,
Canada
