New York took the first game on a 2-0 shut out and it appeared as if they would take the night cap as well. That was until Craig Monroe came to bat in the ninth inning with two on and Detroit trailing 2-3. NFL Preview: AFC South Jacksonville Jaguars The Jaguars were arguably one of the three best teams in the AFC during the regular season last year, only to have the misfortune of playing in the same division as an Indianapolis team that had the best record in football. Still this young club is loaded and only figures to get better, and we would not be surprised if it pulls off an upset in the playoffs out of the wild card spot this season.

NFL Preview: AFC West Oakland Raiders The Raiders had one of the highest payrolls in the NFL last season, yet they managed just four victories to show for it! A coaching change was inevitable after that debacle, so the hard-nosed Art Shell was re-hired to instill some discipline after the inmates ran the asylum here the last couple of years. While the Raiders should be more controlled this year, there is still an issue of talent and lack of youth. Except for running back LaMont Jordan, the rest of the key players on the roster are clearly past their prime,…

NFL Preview: NFC North DETROIT LIONS The Lions were rather lucky to win five games last season given their lack of talent, and this team will probably never succeed with its current blundering management team led by general manager Matt Millen.
