Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Angels 12/1 long shots to win this year’s World Series, but gave them 11/2 odds to win the American League Pennant in 2009.

The loss of Mark Teixeira (who signed wit hthe Yankees this offseason) hurts, but the Angels have more than enough offensive weapons to succeed this season. Outfielder/DH Vladamir Guerrero is still one of the finest hitters in baseball and the Halos did add Bobby Abreu this offseason to give the lineup a boost.

There are some question marks surrounding this team, most notably Brian Fuentes replacing Francisco Rodriguez as closer, but there’s not doubt that Angels are the best team in the AL West and they should cruise into the postseason.
