Georgia arrives at 2-0 and ranked second in the AP Top 25. The Bulldogs opened with a 63-3 win over Tennessee State, then hung 70 on Western Kentucky. Gunner Stockton has been the story. The fifth-year quarterback tied a program record with five touchdown passes while completing 13 of 16 throws for 234 yards, and he was on the bench by the second quarter. He has seven scoring passes and four incompletions on the season.
The caveat is obvious. Neither opponent belonged on the field. Kirby Smart’s 11th team has not faced a defense close to SEC standard, and this is its first road trip of the year.
Arkansas is 1-1 under first-year head coach Ryan Silverfield. The Razorbacks handled North Alabama 31-14, then lost 43-10 at No. 20 Utah. Quarterback KJ Jackson completed just 14 of 34 passes for 139 yards with an interception in Salt Lake City. Silverfield has confirmed Jackson keeps the job this week, though backup AJ Hill Jr. led the only Arkansas touchdown drive after the game was decided. The program has not won an SEC game since October 2024.
Availability matters here. Georgia is without running back Dante Dowdell, linebackers Amaris Williams and Chase Linton, cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick and safety Tyriq Green. Georgia vs. Arkansas Prediction — Is a Four-Touchdown Road Number Too Much Respect?
The spread has not budged off 24.5 since it opened, but the price on the favorite has. Georgia moved from -110 to -115 while the dog drifted to -105. That is consistent with the splits, which show roughly three-quarters of spread tickets on the Bulldogs. When a lopsided public number cannot push the actual line, the market is usually absorbing that money rather than chasing it.
The case for Georgia is straightforward. Arkansas lost by 33 to a Big 12 team that is not as talented as this one. Jackson completed 41 percent of his passes in that game. If the Razorbacks cannot stay on schedule offensively, Georgia’s front should live in the backfield and the scoreboard gets ugly early.
The case against is the number itself. Four touchdowns is a lot to ask of a team that has not been tested and is traveling for the first time. Georgia has already pulled its starting quarterback by halftime twice, and Smart’s staff has little reason to chase points in an SEC opener with Arkansas’ defense already on the ropes. A noon kickoff in Fayetteville is also a different environment than two home tune-ups. Injuries in the Georgia secondary give Arkansas a path to a garbage-time score or two, which is often all a big dog needs.
If Jackson turns it over early, this is decided by the second quarter and the number never matters. Even so, we would rather take the points at a fair price than lay four touchdowns on the road.

Georgia vs. Arkansas Prediction — Can Arkansas Hold Up Its End of the Total?
The total opened at 54 and has been bid up to 55, with the under carrying the slightly longer price. That movement makes sense on the surface. Georgia is averaging 66.5 points per game and has scored a touchdown on every possession Stockton has finished. Add a defense that forced early turnovers against Western Kentucky and the short-field math favors the over.
The other side is Arkansas. The Razorbacks managed 10 points at Utah, and three of those came before Hill entered in the fourth quarter. Georgia held Western Kentucky to 225 total yards, and once this game gets out of hand the Bulldogs will run clock with Nate Frazier and the backups. Blowouts in college football shorten themselves.
The Pick: Under 55 (-115)
Final Thoughts and Bonus Angle
The moneyline is worth a look and then a pass. Georgia at -3300 requires a stake far out of proportion to the return, and Arkansas at +1100 asks for an outright upset that the Razorbacks have not come close to producing in two years of SEC play. Neither price offers anything the spread does not already cover more cheaply.
What would change our view? An early Georgia scoring burst puts both positions in trouble at once, and that correlation is the honest risk in pairing a big dog with an under.
