Sunday features a light college basketball slate with several mid-major teams and a handful of high-major schools taking the floor on the eighth day of February 2026. Will Tulsa cover at the Yuengling Center in Tampa against South Florida in an AAC clash on Sunday afternoon? Can USC cover a tricky game against Penn State as small road favorites? Read on for our Sunday CBB Best Bets Feb. 8 article.
CBB Best Bet: Tulsa +3.5 over South Florida
CBB Best Bet: USC -3.5 over Penn State
I’m backing USC in this one. The Trojans are well-positioned to cover the 3.5-point spread because of Penn State’s defensive inconsistencies and their own superior depth. The Trojans have been highly profitable in specific situational spots this season, going 6-3 ATS when playing with a rest advantage and 9-6 ATS following a win in 2025-26. Furthermore, USC’s 7-5 ATS record in conference play demonstrates a level of reliability that a struggling Penn State squad simply hasn’t matched this year. By relying on their physical edge in the paint and efficient transition offense, USC should dictate the pace and pull away late to secure the road cover. Final score projection: USC TROJANS 78, PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS 71.
