Matt McLain went 1-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday. It was McLain’s first major league homer, as he took a sinker off the plate from Adam Wainwright 385 feet. Hitting second for the seventh straight game, McLain also found an RBI groundout off Wainwright in his third at-bat, and walked in the ninth inning. He was also caught stealing. McLain’s started off with a .259/.375/.481 slash line in his first week of major league baseball and the high spot in the order should help him be a capable starting second baseman in fantasy leagues.
