Penn State Nittany Lions Game Notes

Sean Clifford was 32-for-47 passing for 371 yards and a 3:3 TD:INT ratio during Saturday’s 44-31 loss against Ohio State. Clifford struggled early with passes intercepted by the Buckeyes’ defensive line on his first two drives Saturday. However, the sixth-year senior recovered with two passing touchdowns in the second quarter to wideouts Parker Washington (11 receptions, 13 targets, 179 yards) and KeAndre Lambert-Smith (two receptions, two targets, 58 yards). Clifford continued to push Penn State’s offense down the field in the third quarter before sacrificing a strip sack and pick six in the fourth quarter, though this was primarily due to the transcendent performance by Buckeyes defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau. The senior signal-caller is unlikely to match these season highs in completions, passing attempts and yards during next week’s much easier matchup versus Indiana.

Indiana Hoosiers Game Notes

Cam Camper suffered a torn ACL in the Week 8 loss to Rutgers that will sideline him for the remainder of the season, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports. Camper’s 2022-23 campaign is now over following the torn ACL he sustained in Week 8 against Rutgers. The junior receiver caught 46 passes for 569 yards and two touchdowns across seven games played this season, but he’ll now spend the next several months recovering, rehabbing and preparing for the beginning of the 2023-24 campaign.
