NBC Sports’ Peter King said Brandon Aiyuk has been the “star” of 49ers camp.  July reports suggested Aiyuk was struggling to get on the same page with Trey Lance, but King said the pair have a “very tight relationship” and good chemistry. After climbing out of Kyle Shanahan’s doghouse, Aiyuk finished 2021 strong, placing as the WR24 from Week 9 forward. If Lance is able to move the offense, Aiyuk will be a great value in the 11th round of Yahoo drafts.

Houston Texans DFS Spin

Texans head coach Lovie Smith said rookie CB Derek Stingley (foot) should be ready for Week 1. Smith said the team is going to ramp up Stingley’s workload throughout training camp in hopes of the rookie first rounder being 100 percent for the start of the regular season. Stingley was limited throughout OTAs and minicamp this spring. Houston’s secondary would be far more vulnerable if Stingley is sidelined in the early season. The Texans start 2022 with a Week 1 game against the Colts.

49ers vs. Texans Prediction:

Lovie Smith is not a first-year head coach but he is a first-year head coach of the Texans and one thing we know about new coaches is that they take every opportunity early in their tenures to change the culture of the team that they’re taking over. Smith is no exception in Houston, which has endured a lot of turnover the past three years. Kyle Shanahan of the 49ers is established – not just in the NFL, but in San Francisco specifically. He’s already taken the 49ers to the Super Bowl and reached the NFC title game a year ago. He’s looking to fill the final spots of his roster, not worry about changing the culture. This game means more to Smith and the Texans. Give me the points.
