Backstrom has been dealing with a non-COVID illness, which he said is the flu. Coach Peter Laviolette said it hasn’t been decided yet if Backstrom will travel with the team on the road. Vladimir Tarasenko has been placed in COVID protocol. Tarasenko picked up an assist and logged 14:23 of ice time in Wednesday’s loss to Pittsburgh. He has 14 goals and 34 points in 34 games this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.
