New Orleans has dropped six of 10 games but did crush Portland last night as a 3.5-point favorite. The Pelicans are 5-4-1 against the spread over their last 10 games, are 33-33 against the number on the season, and are 16-16 against the spread on the road this year.
Miami has won seven of its last 10 games and is 8-2 against the spread during that time. They’re now 40-26 against the number on the season, which includes a healthy home ATS record of 19-12 on the year.
OUR PREDICTION: The Pelicans have failed to cover the spread in five of their last six trips to Miami and are just 3-8 against the number in their last 11 games overall versus the Heat. The home team is also 9-4 against the spread in the last 13 meetings between these two teams while the Heat are 10-1-1 at the betting window in their last 12 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Miami is also 21-4-1 ATS in its last 26 games overall.
