Wild vs. Red Wings Prediction

The Senators snapped the Wild’s six-game winning streak but Minnesota should be in a good position to pull off the upset tonight when it takes on Detroit at 7:30PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Red Wings are -125 money line favorites versus the Wild, who are +105 money line underdogs to pull off the small upset. The over/under is sitting at 5 goals.

Devan Dubnyk saved 19 of 22 shots in Thursday’s 3-2 loss to the Senators and had his six-game winning streak come to an end in the process. As of this writing Dubnyk is slated to start on back-to-back nights, so he and the Wild should rebound against an inconsistent Red Wings squad tonight.

Detroit will counter with Jimmy Howard, who will start with Petr Mrazek struggling. Howard owns a 2.87 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 32 contests this season. In his last appearance, he allowed two goals on just 20 shots in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday.

The Wild are 6-1 in their last seven games overall and 5-2 in their last seven road games, while the Red Wings are 0-4 in their last four games playing on two days of rest. They’re also 1-4 in their last five games when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous contest.
