The Lakers won for only the 10th time this season when they beat the Timberwolves 119-115 on Tuesday. Here’s why you should bet against L.A. tonight.
The Lakers are just 3-12 against the spread in their last 15 games coming off a win. This season, they’re 3-6 against the number coming off a win and lost by an average margin of 11.2 points in those nine games. They’re also 11-16 against the number this season as a road underdog, losing by an average margin of 12.5 points.
The Pelicans haven’t been a strong bet themselves lately, going 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. That said, they’re a perfect 4-0 at the betting window in their last four games playing on zero rest and that’s the situation they’ll find themselves in tonight after losing 110-97 to the Spurs on Wednesday.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Pelicans are 10.5-point home favorites versus the Lakers for tonight’s 9:30PM ET matchup on TNT. The over/under, meanwhile, is sitting at 209 points, which is up from the opening number of 208.5.
