According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Sharks are -120 money line favorites versus the Ducks, who have odds of +100 to pull off the slight upset in tonight’s game. The total, meanwhile, sits at 5.5 goals.
These teams met on Oct. 3 in a preseason game and the story of the game was San Jose’s Raffi Torres landing a head shot on Jakob Silverberg, resulting in a 41-game suspension. That was the longest suspension in NHL history for a hit on another player.
The Ducks have a lot of talent, including netminder Frederik Andersen (35-12-5, 2.38 goals-against average, .914 save percentage). Expect a lower-scoring game than expected between two talented teams. The Ducks did not win a game last year in this series so they will need to play some defense to win.
