Browns vs. Chargers Free Pick
The struggling San Diego Chargers will look to get right today when they host the Cleveland Browns at 4:05PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Chargers are 7-point home favorites over the Browns while the over/under currently sits at 44.5 points. San Diego enters play with a 1-2 record and a 1-2 mark against the spread while Cleveland has the same 1-2 SU and ATS records.
Josh McCown completed 28-of-49 passes for 341 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the Browns’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders. He also absorbed five sacks and fumbled once while looking scattershot for a 36-year-old veteran. Cleveland isn’t considering going back to Johnny Manziel but maybe it should. McCown will start today despite a hand injury and it’s unlikely he’ll find whatever magic he had two years ago as Jay Cutler’s backup in Chicago.
Meanwhile, the Chargers’ offensive line nearly got quarterback Philip Rivers killed last week in the team’s loss to the Vikings. Rivers threw for 246 yards and a touchdown with one interception and a lost fumble. He took a number of hits and couldn’t move the ball without Ladarius Green and Antonio Gates.
The under is 5-2 in the Browns’ last seven road games and 5-2 in the Chargers’ last seven home contests.
