Lingmerth shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday to get to -15 for the tournament, which put him in a tie with Justin Rose, who shot an even-par 72 in his final round. The two both made par on the first two playoff holes before a wayward tee shot from Rose opened the door for Lingmerth to win with a par on the third playoff hole.

According to oddsmakers, Lingmerth was a massive long shot to win this weekend, as he had 300/1 odds to claim his first PGA victory. This means that a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $30,000.

Lingmerth and Rose finished two shots ahead of Jordan Spieth and Francesco Molinari, who each finished at -13 overall. Spieth had a great final round, posting a 7-under 65, while Molinari had a 1-under 71.
