Rose suffers another knee injury
CHICAGO, IL (TheSpread) – It’s an all too familiar and unfortunate story, but the Chicago Bulls will be without Derrick Rose indefinitely as he has suffered another knee injury.
The Bulls announced late on Tuesday that Rose has a torn meniscus in his right knee and will need surgery that will put him on the sideline for an unknown amount of time, possibly even the rest of the season. Rose had the same injury back in November of 2013, but had the meniscus repaired instead of having it removed in hopes of lengthening his career.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Bulls are currently listed with 9/1 odds to win the NBA Finals this season. The Golden State Warriors are the favorites with 13/4 odds while the Cleveland Cavaliers have 15/4 odds.
Knee injuries have been hampering Rose for quite some time. He missed the entire 2012-13 season after recovering from a torn ACL in the 2012 playoffs. He then played in just 10 games in the 2013-14 season because of the torn meniscus. This year he has played in 46 games and was averaging 18.4 points and 5 assists per game for the Bulls. Chicago is currently 36-21 on the season and in the third spot in the Eastern Conference, 8.5 games behind Atlanta for first.
