Final NFC Championship Odds
SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – The NFC Championship will be decided today at 3PM ET when the Green Bay Packers face the Seattle Seahawks on FOX. Here is an updated look at the odds for this contest.
The Seahawks are the defending conference and Super Bowl champions and looking to make a second-straight trip to the Super Bowl with a win today. Seattle went 12-4 on the season and the Seahawks have won seven straight coming into this one, including a 31-17 win over the Panthers last week at home. Seattle is 10-6-1 against the spread in its 17 games this year and the Seahawks are 6-0-1 ATS in this 7-game winning streak while hitting the under in five of the seven games.
Green Bay comes into this game with a 12-4 record in the regular season. The Packers won eight of their last nine games coming into today’s championship game, including a 26-21 win over the Cowboys last weekend at home. Green Bay is 9-7-1 against the spread in their 17 games, but they are just 3-4 ATS in their last 7. One of the big issues for the Packers is quarterback Aaron Rodgers is playing with a torn calf muscle, which has limited his mobility.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are clearly favored in this game, as Seattle is getting odds of -7.5 points against the Packers. The over/under total for this game has been set at 46 points (View Matchup). These two met in the season opener with the Seahawks getting a 36-16 win. The home team has won eight of the last nine between these two, but the Packers are 3-2-2 against the spread in the last seven of this series.
The first meeting this year was all about Seattle’s defense limited Green Bay’s offense, as the Seahawks held the Packers to just 255 total yards and 175 passing yards. Rodgers was 23 of 33 passing for 189 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and that was when he was fresh and healthy. Russell Wilson threw for two scores while Marshawn Lynch rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
