SHREVEPORT, LA (The Spread) – Miami has been a horrible bet in bowl games but will try to rectify that when it takes on South Carolina in the Independence Bowl today at 3:30PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Miami is a 3.5-point favorite over South Carolina for today’s contest while the over/under total is currently sitting at 61.5 points.
Miami is just 1-5 against the spread in its last six bowl games and 1-5 ATS in its last six games in December. The Hurricanes are also a winless 0-4 at the betting window in their last four neutral site games and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a double-digit loss at home.
On the other side, South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games versus ACC opponents and 9-4 against the number in its last 13 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in its previous game.
