According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Arizona State is a 23.5-point road favorite over New Mexico, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 69 points. The Sun Devils opened as 27-point favorites but the line has been bet down, while the total opened at 68 before being bet up.
Arizona State had no issues with I-AA opponent Weber State in its opener, winning 45-14 as a 45.5-point favorite. D.J. Foster set career highs with 147 yards rushing and three touchdowns before resting for much of the second half, while quarterback Taylor Kelly was 18-of-27 for 238 yards and a score.
New Mexico fell in its home opener 31-24 despite erasing a 24-7 halftime lead with a 14-point third quarter. The Lobos only threw the ball nine times on the night and rushed for 410 yards on 52 carries. Cole Gautsche led the way with 184 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns, while Jhurell Pressley rushed for 84 yards on nine carries. New Mexico failed to cover as a 10-point home favorite.
