According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Ohio State is currently an 12-point favorite over Virginia Tech, while the over/under total is now sitting at 47 points. The Buckeyes opened as 12-point favorites and that’s where the number sits now, while the total opened at 50 before being bet down.
Virginia Tech beat FCS I-AA William & Mary 34-9 in its opener and just barely covered as 23-point favorites. Junior Michael Brewer completed 23-of-30 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start, while freshman running back Shai McKenzie rushed or 106 yards and a 39-yard touchdown on just nine carries.
Navy gave Ohio State all it could handle but the Buckeyes eventually pulled away for a 34-17 victory as a 13.5-point road favorite in Week 1. The combined score fell just under the total of 53.5 as freshman quarterback T.J. Barrett passed for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Barrett made his debut for an OSU team that will be without Braxton Miller (shoulder injury) for the season.
