UFC 171 will take place from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a bout for the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship as Johny Hendricks (15-2) battles Robbie Lawler (22-9). According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Hendricks is the clear favorite, as he has odds of -400 to win, while Lawler has a money line of +300. Hendricks looked to have won the title back in November when he fought Georges St. Pierre, but lost a controversial split decision. He now gets another shot at the title, but this time is the clear favorite. The powerful striker showed great wrestling ability and conditioning against GSP. He faces another strong striker in Lawler, but Lawler’s wrestling and conditioning is in question when compared to Hendricks.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is also a welterweight clash, as Carlos Condit (29-7) faces Tyron Woodley (12-2). Oddsmakers have Condit as the slight favorite, as he has odds of -185 to win, while Woodley has a money line of +150 to prevail. Condit is coming off a win over Martin Kampmann that snapped back-to-back decision losses to GSP and Hendricks. He is arguably the best welterweight outside of Hendricks. He is a great muay thai striker that fights well of his back. Woodley is coming off a KO win over Josh Koscheck, but is just 2-2 in his last four. He is a powerful striker and wrestler, but may not have the endurance to keep pace with Condit.
