Chargers vs. Bengals Prop Odds
CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – The San Diego Chargers will need their stars to step up on Sunday when they face the Cincinnati Bengals. Here is a look at the prop odds for both teams in this game.
If the Chargers are to win on Sunday, Philip Rivers is certainly going to have to play well. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Rivers has been given over/under odds of 240.5 passing yards for this game. Rivers has thrown for 4,478 yards and 32 touchdowns this season. He is averaging 270.5 passing yards for game for the year. Rivers threw for 252 yards on 23 of 37 passing against the Bengals back on Dec. 1 in San Diego. He has thrown for at least 241 yards in nine games this season, but failed to do so in his last three games of the season. However, of the nine games he did pass that mark, six were on the road. He seems to elevate his play away from home. Cincinnati does have the fifth-best passing defense in the NFL, but that didn’t keep him from moving the ball in the previous meeting.
Cincinnati will look to play-making receiver A.J. Green in this contest. Green has been one of the top receivers in the NFL for a few seasons now and he has been given over/under odds of 87.5 receiving yards for Sunday’s game. Green caught 98 passes for 1,426 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. He averaged 89.1 yards per game. In the Dec. 1 game at San Diego, Green caught five passes for 83 yards and was targeted seven times. He has been targeted at least 10 times in nine games this year with a low of 5 targets in any single game. He will get his chances to make plays. Green has had at least 88 receiving yards in eight of the 16 games this season, but only two were at home. The Chargers enter the playoffs with the 29th-ranked pass defense in the league.
