CHICAGO (The Spread) – First place in the NFC North is up for grabs on Sunday, as the Chicago Bears host the Detroit Lions at 1PM ET on FOX.

Chicago is 5-3 on the season, 3-1 at home and 2-5-1 against the spread. Detroit is 5-3 overall, 2-2 on the road and 4-4 against the spread. The home team has won four of the last five in this series.

Trends show that the Lions are 6-1 against the spread in their last 7 meetings with Chicago and these two have hit the over in 7 of their last 10 meetings. The Bears have also hit the over in 7 of their last 10 games in November.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, this game is even, as neither team has been given a point spread for the contest. The over/under total for the game has been set at 52.5 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had the Lions favored by 2.5 points, but the spread has quickly worked its way to even. The over/under total opened at 52.5 points and fell back to 51.5 before moving back up to 52.5.

Detroit is coming off the bye week, but entered it by beating Dallas, 31-30 on a last-second touchdown sneak from quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Lions have had no issues moving the ball, as they average 416 yards per game. The problem has been on defense, where Detroit is allowing 381 yards per contest. Stafford has thrown for 2,617 yards and 16 touchdowns this season while Calvin Johnson has caught 47 passes for 821 yards and seven touchdowns.

Chicago is coming off a big 27-20 win at Green Bay last Monday. The Bears were playing without Jay Cutler in the win, but he is expected back on Sunday, despite a groin injury. The Chicago offense is averaging 377 yards per game on offense this year while giving up 381.1 yards per game. Cutler has thrown for 1,658 yards and 12 touchdowns to lead the offense, while Matt Forte has 658 rushing yards with seven scores. Brandon Marshall has added 53 receptions for 647 yards and six scores.

In terms of Injuries, Chicago long snapper Patrick Mannelly (leg) is doubtful while linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder) is out. Detroit tackle Corey Hilliard (knee) and defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) are both questionable to play.
