The UFC on FX 8 will take place from Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil with the main card bouts airing live on FX at 9PM ET on Saturday.
The main event of Saturday’s event is a fight between two of the top middleweights in the world as Vitor Belfort (22-10) takes on Luke Rockhold (10-1). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rockhold is the slight favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -125 to win, while Belfort has a money line of -105 to win. Belfort is a knockout artist that can finish a fight with one punch. Rockhold is the former Strikeforce middleweight champion who hasn’t lost since 2007. Rockhold is a strong wrestler, but also has a great mixture of striking. The longer the fight goes, the more it favors Rockhold, but Belfort has the explosive power to end the fight quickly.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a middleweight bout between Ronaldo Souza (17-3) and Chris Camozzi (19-5). According to oddsmakers, Souza is the clear favorite to win, as he has odds of -600 to win, while Camozzi has been given a money line of +400. Souza is a former Strikeforce champion that lost the title to Rockhold by decision. He comes in on a three-fight win streak and he is considered to be one of the most dangerous submission fighters in the division. Along with that, he has great striking ability. Camozzi is riding a four-fight win streak entering this bout. He is a grinder that uses his wrestling and ground striking to control opponents. If he can get Souza to the ground, he can win this fight.
