UFC 154 will take place from the Bell Centre in Montreal with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET. All odds are according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.
UFC Welterweight Championship Bout – Georges St. Pierre (22-2) vs. Carlos Condit (28-5)
This is a tough fight. Normally, GSP would be the easy pick, but he is coming off a layoff that extends from April 2011 to now due to a severe knee injury. Will St. Pierre have the same conditioning and ability that he did prior to getting hurt? Condit is a very formidable opponent regardless of St. Pierre’s condition, as he has knockout power in his hands and feet. His weakness is his takedown defense, which I expect GSP to expose if he is up to speed. I think this fight will be a grind for St. Pierre, but he will come away with a decision victory. UFC Welterweight Bout – Johny Hendricks (13-1) vs. Martin Kampmann (20-5)
This should be an entertaining contest as the two are fighting for No. 1 contender status. Hendricks has the power to end this fight quickly, while Kampmann is the better technician and I think that is what will allow him to win this fight. He will survive the early storm from Hendricks and then pick him apart on the feet as he tires over the final two rounds. Look for Kampmann to pick up a decision victory in a mild upset. UFC Middleweight Bout – Constantinos Philippou (11-2) vs. Nick Ring (13-1)
This is a good battle between two promising middleweights, but I like Philippou in this one. He has the striking power and technique to win this fight standing and he is strong enough in his grappling to stay off his back against Ring. Over 15 minutes I expect Philippou to land a big punch at some point that will put Ring out. FREE PICK – Constantinos Philippou -240
