MORGANTOWN, WV (ATS Consultants) – No. 11 West Virginia meets in-state rival Marshall on Saturday at Noon ET on FX from Mountaineer Field.
West Virginia went 10-3 last season and was 6-5-1 against the spread. The Mountaineers have won 11 straight against Marshall, but were just 2-4 ATS at home in 2011. Marshall was 7-6 in 2011 and 7-5 against the spread. The Thundering Herd were 2-4 ATS on the road, but 3-1 ATS in non-conference play last season.

Two years ago, Marshall took the Mountaineers to overtime, falling 24-21 at home. West Virginia is led by QB Geno Smith, who is taking his talents to the Big 12, where WVU has moved. Marshall is led by QB Raheem Cato and WR Aaron Dobson. Cato started 9 games as a true freshman and pass for 15 TDs. He’ll only get better with a well-balanced offense behind him. The defense isn’t top notch but West Virginia has their own issues. Last year, West Virginia won 34-213 as the game ended with 14:36 left due to severe thunderstorms that caused four hours of delays. West Virginia will win again but won’t cover against a solid Marshall team.
