There are seven different weigh classes for Greco-Roman Wrestling and the country with the most gold to gain, according to oddsmakers, is Iran. Of the seven weight classes listed, Iran is favored in three of them, while four other countries are favored in one.
At the 2008 Olympics, Iran was completely shut out of all medals, not winning a single gold, silver or bronze. At the most recent world championships, they won two golds as Omid Norouzi (60kg) and Saeid Abdevali (66kg) both won their weight classes and are now favored to wint he gold medal in London.
One country without much prospect for a gold, or even a medal, is the United States. Of the seven weight classes, oddsmakers have just three total Americans listed with a shot to win gold. Of that group Justin Dashaun Lester (66kg) has the best odds, as he is listed with 9/1 odds to claim the gold medal in his weight class. Lester has medaled in the World Championships before, but never claimed the overall title.
